Previous to the establishment of a Church of England school, Wilsford cum Lake had a day school, founded in 1819, catering for around 14 children. It also had a Sunday school, started in 1831, supported by voluntary contributions, with an average attendance of 32.
In 1833 a daily school served 15 pupils, 8 of whom were taught at the expense of a lady residing in the parish, and the remainder supported by their parents.
