In the former Friends' meeting house in St. Margaret's Street in 1830. A separate girl's school was built in Church Street in 1860. In the early 1880s a new girls' school was built in Mason's Lane with accommodation for infants. In 1891 the boys' school closed and the pupils were transferred to the Mason's Lane Buildings. In 1925 it was closed and replaced with a County Junior School (the future Fitzmaurice School).
