Quaker School, Melksham

Established c. 1695, this was a boarding school with fees of £7.00 per year. The first schoolmaster was John Jeffry from Gloucestershire, who was appointed in 1696, and he was succeeded in 1705 by John Padley 'from the north'. The school closed sometime before 1721.
