In September 1962 the older girls from St. Mary's School and the boys from St. Peter's School moved into the former Grammar School building in The Parade, which became St. Peter's Junior School. By 1982 there were 321 children and 12 full time teachers. In 2002 a total of 278 pupils attended the school.
