This was formed in 1926 in the re-organisation of Devizes schools. The former Southbroom National Schools became the Southbroom Parochial school for Standard I and infants only (children from 5 - 8 years), using the National School buildings. In 1949 the school was granted controlled status and in 1952 the average attendance was 452. In 1954 part of Heathcote House was used to rehouse part of the school. 1957 saw the school split into two new schools. The Southbroom Church of England Controlled Infants' School remained at Heathcote House while the Southbroom Church of England Junior School moved to a new purpose built school in Nursteed Road, opening in 1961. In 1971 the old Parochial School schoolroom was being used as a youth centre.
