This was the name given to the National School for Boys ( originally the Free School (or Bluecoat School) for Boys in Maryport Street) in Sheep Street, the National School for Girls in Lansdowne Terrace and the National Infants' School in Sheep Street. The Town Schools were closed in 1926 when the New South broom School opened.
