British Infants' School, Devizes

In 1869 this school was being conducted in, or near the Congregational chapel. A new schoolroom for infants, probably as a part of the main school was opened in 1872. The school served the nonconformists of the town but was closed at short notice in 1893 in the mistaken belief that a school board was about to be formed in Devizes. The children were accommodated in the Town Schools or educated in the parish rooms.
