This was built in 1959, at a cost of £42,585, for 240 pupils in Bath Road. It replaced St. Mary's School and took all pupils aged from 5 to 11 years. The population of Cricklade increased in the latter half of the 20th century and in 1966 there were 236 children at the school. Mobile classrooms were erected in the 1970s and by 1979 there were 499 pupils on the school roll. In September 1979 the school was divided into two schools on the same site, St. Sampson's Church of England Junior School and St. Sampson's Infants' School. In 2002 the junior school had 214 pupils aged between 7 and 11 years.
