This school seems to have opened in 1818 and by 1819 had 60 girls, who paid one penny a week for their education. There was also an evening school for 70 boys, who also paid one penny a week. The mistress in 1830 was Catherine Drew and in 1842 it was Mary Little. The mistress was paid £25 a year, which came from voluntary subscriptions by local people and from the payment of fees by pupils. In 1846 there were 75 girls but at some point, possibly after 1852 the school closed and the pupils were transferred to the National Schools.
