This opened as a temporary school in 1948 to cope with rising numbers of school age children caused by the increased population and the raising of the school leaving age to 15. It was housed in converted huts at the former RAF Blakehill Farm and took children from houses in that area. There were 25 on the school roll in 1949 and 54 (33 juniors and 21 infants) in 1951. In 1955 the people in the former camp were re-housed and the school was closed.
