Sir Matthew Andrews provided a schoolhouse and appointed a schoolmaster at a salary of £25 a year. He left £50 a year in his will of 1711 for the endowment of the school but his son refused to continue this after 1716. He did however repair the schoolroom at this time as he withdrew the salary. The site of the school is unknown.
