Mere Junior School, Mere

In 1922 the British and Church of England Schools amalgamated and Mere Junior School was housed in the former British School. This was taken over by Wiltshire County Council in 1937 and remained in the former Congregational chapel until 1972 when the local schools were reorganised into three tiers, the junior school was disbanded and the infant school buildings in Dark Lane became Mere First School.
