In 1862 a new school was built near the site of the former Catholic boarding school. The school was supported by the 11th Lord Arundell and was built to accommodate 165 children. The Sisters of Charity of the Order of St. Vincent de Paul ran the school and provided the teaching. The Sisters continued to teach, with the help of lay staff, until 1964 since when there have been lay teachers only. In 1997 there were 66 pupils, who were taught in three classes. These came from several local villages as well as Tisbury itself. The school has a board of trustees and in 2002 had 76 pupils aged between 4 and 11 years.
