Congregational School, Avebury

This was established in 1859 in a schoolroom behind the church. There were about 17 pupils in 1871 and the school was still open in the 1880s. In 1940 the schoolroom was used by the Church of England School to cope with an influx of children from the families of men building the new RAF airfield at Yatesbury.
