The Mead Community Primary School, Hilperton

This school was built to serve the planned housing development of Paxcroft Mead that began construction in the late 1990s. The school was opened in September 2001 to serve this expanding area. It initially had seven classrooms, to accommodate 210 children, but was so designed that it could be expanded by adding on another seven classrooms to extend the capacity to 420 children. The number of pupils in 2002 was 212 and additional classrooms have now been built so that the number of children at the school in 2004 is now 350.
