Miss Read's School, Ramsbury

This school in Back Lane was supported by Miss Read of Crowood House. In it between 35 and 40 girls learned domestic crafts and duties. The school and schoolhouse were given to the parish by Miss Read in 1855 and the management of the school passed to the vicar and churchwardens. It then became the School for Girls, under which heading further information can be found.
