Welcome to Area Board Grants
What are the Area Boards?
The Area Boards are a way of working to bring local decision making into the heart of the community. Area Boards engage with the local community and facilitate local discussions via meetings, events and workshops. They aim to develop community led action across themes such as arts, culture and leisure, children and young people, community safety, economy and employment, environment, health and wellbeing, highways and transport, housing and older people.
A key role of the boards is to award grant funding to local groups who bring forward suitable community projects. Local Community Engagement Managers (CEM’s) facilitate and enable closer working between the council, the community and the Area Boards.
Prior to starting your application please contact your local CEM and Councillor to get advice and to find out the cut-off date for the next round of funding in your area.
