In 1967 the Zouch Infant's School opened to the west of the Gason Hill estate. The Zouch Junior School was built in 1975 on the same large site. The two schools merged in 1985 as the Zouch Primary School with two school halls and extensive grounds. The number of pupils has remained at around 300 for some time, with 309 on the roll in 1990 and 301 in 2002.
