Williams, Alfred: Ms / WGS: 'The following I consider about unapproachable as a hunting song. The figure expressed in the first line is magnificent; no one but a true sport [poet] could have written it. I was some time in obtaining the words after I had heard the song, but those first two lines haunted me, and I could not rest till I had found the piece. There are several verbal errors I expect, though they are not serious. Obtained of Charles Messenger, Cerney Wick.
