Williams, Alfred: WGS: This seems to have enjoyed considerable popularity. It is old and the words appealed to the villagers. I obtained the copy of Edward Warren, South Marston, though I have heard of it in several neighbouring localities.

This song is not included in the Bathe Clissold index. There is a brief reference to it in the Bathe thesis, Pedalling in the dark, 2006, p 30 where it is attributed it to William Warren, South Marston in a section on missing texts. There is no copy of this in the manuscripts. Following in the footsteps of the compliers of the Bathe Clissold Index I have given this song the number X.806 for continuity.
