Williams, Alfred: Ms / WGS: 'I have before observed that the subject of Adam and Eve was an attractive one for song writers. Such pieces were not always successful however, though they enjoyed much popularity. I have met with a song entitled 'Noah in the Ark' but it has no striking virtues. This I first heard of Mrs Bond, Faringdon; she learnt it off her old master, a farmer, nearly eighty years ago.'
