Williams, Alfred: Ms / WGS: “A very old favourite, now rarely met with anywhere. It was evidently written about 1750, during Lord Clives war with the French in India. Obtained at Stratton St Margaret.”

The tune used for the recording is fairly common. The text as printed appears to be a contraction text omitting the usual repeats which are included in the recording. My thanks to Bob Jesshop without whose assistance this would not have been possible.
