Title
Sailor and his true love
Singer
Sawyer, David [Phoebus]
Notes
Alfred Williams - 'If Thyrsis or Daphnius had been substituted for the rather mean sounding 'Jimmy' of the present piece it might have wrought some improvement. But the ballad writers were sometimes very poor artists and blurted out the most unlovely lines and phrases, conscious, I suppose, that no one would deign to waste studious criticism upon them. And if they had thought otherwise, they would have been very deeply affected. David Sawyer.'
